La Liqueur de Bergamote Joseph Cartron uses the Italian bergamot varieties Fantastico, Feminello, and Castagrano, known for their flavorful juice and the exceptional quality of their essential oils. These carefully selected bergamots provide a liqueur with outstanding sweet and sour flavor nuances, complemented by a luxurious mouthfeel and an elegant, lingering aftertaste. The bitter notes from the fruit add plenty of freshness, finesse, and complexity. Strength: 20% vol. Content: 70cl, 50cl.

Some companies in Burgundy might boast of being larger or more well-known than Joseph Cartron, but Cartron, founded in 1882, is certainly one of the most recognized for their quality. The secret behind the excellent fruit liqueurs and eaux-de-vie lies first and foremost in the selection of the raw fruit’s quality. A blackcurrant, a raspberry, a pear, or a plum used for distilling or macerating must be perfect in ripeness and health. Here, any small flaw can ruin everything. As with wine, the quality of a fruit liqueur or eau-de-vie does not begin in the cellar but in the fields during cultivation. In Burgundy, Cartron has an outstanding supply of fruits on the slopes above the Grand Cru vineyards or in the Hautes Côtes in the hinterland. Other ingredients are sourced from the rest of France or more exotic places around the world. Each product receives its own distillation according to a recipe that has been used for generations.
