Organic Italian Vermouth
If we had to choose one vermouth to take with us on a desert island, it would probably be Volata. For us, this is the gold standard. It comes from Alto Adige, where an old family distillery makes it in small quantities according to a traditional recipe that includes 16 botanicals and wine on sangiovese from Tuscany.
The result is a touchingly beautiful sweet vermouth: super vinous and aromatic so that half would be enough. The bitterness is contained and the sweetness is right in the cupboard. Do yourself and your summer a favor: taste it as soon as possible!
Colour: Beautiful, shiny ruby.
Scent: A surprisingly fresh, harmonious and delicious scent that is just jam-packed with red fruit. Behind the fruit lies the spices and simmers.
Tasting notes: Juicy and vinous with notes of currants, ripe cherries and blackcurrants. A vermouth that slides down almost too easily!
Serving suggestion: Volata is one of the vermouths we like to drink neat (chilled). Of course, it also shines over ice with a slice of orange and a few olives on the side, or in a negroni.
