Twins Zinfandel Estate Grown 2017 75 cl.
Lange Twins Family Winery- USA
Zinfandel is primarily made from Zinfandel (approximately 83%, 47-year-old vines), as well as Petite Sirah (7%), Teroldego (4%), Syrah, Barbera, and Tannat. The grapes come from different parcels in Lodi. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (24-25ºC) to preserve as much freshness, aroma, and immediacy in the wine as possible. This is followed by malolactic fermentation. The blended wine is then aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels to achieve greater harmony, richness, and complexity.
The wine has a beautiful, shiny ruby red color, which is classic for Zinfandel. The aroma is immediate and fruit-rich with crisp nuances of ripe red berries, herbs, and a touch of vanilla from the oak aging. The taste is developed and full-bodied, with a good balance between richness, alcohol strength, and delicious, delicate notes. It finishes with a lovely structure but also with charming, fruity tones. A very well-made Californian wine. Perfect for pork, duck, poultry, or game, preferably with a robust sauce. Also try it with white or red mold cheeses.
Lange Twins Family Winery and Vineyards was founded in Lodi (California) in 1870, and the estate has been owned by the same family for five generations. Today, twin brothers Randall and Brad Lange and their wives Charlene and Susan run the business with the same passion and enthusiasm as the generations before them. After completing their wine education, the brothers made significant improvements to both the vineyards and the production facilities, and today the winery produces a wide range of modern top wines.
The winery itself, with its beautiful cellar facilities, is located in Acampo – north of the city of Lodi, in the heart of one of California’s most renowned wine regions. Here, Zinfandel is primarily cultivated, but Lange Twins Family Winery also grows a variety of other grape varieties. Since 1988, they have implemented various environmentally friendly methods in collaboration with local sustainable farming organizations (including Lodi Rules, BRIT, BIFS-Biologically Integrated Farming Programs). A large part of the vineyards is already certified by The Lodi Rules as “Winegrapes Certified Sustainable,” but the goal is to have all vineyards certified. In 2014, the winery received the prestigious “Award of Excellence in Sustainable Winegrowing” from the Botanic Research Institute of Texas (BRIT).
