Thornæs Danish Whisky – Sonoma Peat is a peated single malt whisky, matured in Bourbon quarter casks from Sonoma, California, USA.
In the Bourbon world, quarter casks are barrels of approximately 50-55 liters, and Sonoma Peat has been aged for over four years in these small casks. This has resulted in a smoky whisky with classic notes of vanilla, caramel, and tropical fruit, but also an intense flavor profile with dark, spicy undertones.
Just beneath the flavor palette, the peat smoke rises through the layers, leaving a subtle lingering haze in the finish.
