About the Product
Aged for a minimum of 12 years in first-fill charred bourbon casks. Triple-distilled and made exclusively from malted Irish barley. Since its release, this enchanting and mature Irish whiskey has won numerous international gold medals.
The whiskey has an alcohol content of 43%.
Tasting Notes
The double maturation adds rich, honeyed maltiness and soft notes of candied fruits. The former stands out particularly in the aroma, while the latter is prominent on the palate. The finish transitions into sun-dried raisins and spicy oak notes.

Once, the Emerald Isle was the largest whiskey producer in the world, and the Irish still claim it was they – not the Scots – who invented the golden drink. However, due to a long series of challenges, such as famine, Prohibition, and resistance to adapting to a changing market, the Irish whiskey industry experienced a gradual but devastating collapse. By 1970, only two active distilleries remained on the entire island!
Fortunately, the tide has (finally) begun to turn for Irish whiskey, with new distilleries popping up across the island. Walsh Whiskey, founded in 1999 by husband-and-wife team Bernard and Rosemary Walsh, has positioned itself as a leader in this Irish whiskey renaissance. They achieve this in part through their two Irish whiskey product lines – Writer’s Tears and The Irishman.
