Rum Crafted By Maison Ferrand – France
This vintage rum pays homage to Mauritius with its tropical aromas. Aged for 11 years thanks to a unique double aging process, the Planteray Rum – Mauritius 2013 seduces with its notes of dark chocolate and orange zest.
A journey to the heart of Mauritius
The Planteray Rum – Mauritius 2013 expresses all the richness of the Mauritian terroir. Distilled in the oldest distillery on the island, this rum captures the essence of exotic landscapes, from lush jungles to rainforests. Every sip evokes the raw beauty of the Indian Ocean.
Exceptional aging
This rum has benefited from the emblematic technique of double aging. After 9 years spent in barrels in Mauritius, it sailed across the seas to France to mature for another 2 years in Ferrand casks. This process gives Planteray Rum – Mauritius 2013 exceptional aromatic depth.
An elegant flavor profile
The dominant notes of tropical fruits meet the richness of dark chocolate and the liveliness of orange zest. Planteray Rum – Mauritius 2013 offers a unique taste experience, combining sweetness, intensity, and complexity.
Planteray Rum
After more than 25 years of the Plantation Rum brand, it’s time for Planteray Rum. Also produced by Alexandre Gabriel, Planteray is simply a rebranding; the products remain the same.
This is a 46.5% molasses rum in a limited edition. The fermentation lasted for 2 days. The subsequent distillation likely took place at the Medine distillery in Mauritius under the supervision of the master distiller. As we know from Planteray, the rum is aged using the double aging method. First, it spent 9 years in 200-liter barrels that previously contained American bourbon, tropical on Mauritius, and then 2 years in nineteen 350-liter cognac barrels (Ferrand Casks) in southeastern France. The rum is sweetened with 4.5g of sugar per liter.
