No Special Release without Mortlach! In 2024, it has been named Midnight Dusk; a young cask strength Mortlach matured in refill and ex-bourbon casks, followed by a finish in Sangiovese and Ramandolo casks. The latter is a sweet Italian white wine, and this is absolutely the first time we’ve seen these casks used for whisky maturation. A truly remarkable whisky!
Color: Golden amber.
Aroma: An intense, lively, and decadent whisky with exotic notes of lychee, mango, and ripe grapes. Hints of citrus and vanilla in the background.
Tasting Notes: Bright, fresh fruit flavors with plenty of power (we’re talking 57%, after all). Creamy, sweet, and lightly spiced on the finish.
Serving Suggestion: Enjoy neat. A drop or two of water enhances the fruitiness.
