We have made a nice and inviting gift box, which contains four of our meads from the basic series. The box appears nice and elegant, but small apt descriptions of the contents. Inside there are 4x10cl mead of the best Danish quality. A gift box, perfect to take as a host gift, for Mother’s or Father’s Day.

A locally rooted mead brewery
Mjødgård is a microbrewery in South Zealand, which brews mead according to old traditions and from local ingredients, such as herbs, fruits and berries – handpicked or from local producers. We are not organically certified, but we use sustainable ingredients.

Our mead is sweet and mild, and it is carefully brewed with honey from local green beekeepers, to achieve the highest possible quality and sustainability. Mjød is the Nordics’ natural mulled wine and a good alternative to port, Sauterne or other dessert wines.

The gift box is also the perfect present!

Have you not yet become acquainted with Mjødgård’s honey-golden drops of Nordic mulled wine? You don’t really know good Danish mead yet? Or do you need a good host gift, something for an anniversary? So here is the solution.

We have made it easy for you and have created a delicious gift box, with 4 x 10cl bottles from Mjødgård, so that you can taste all the regular varieties, and find the one or ones that you think should stay in the bar cupboard at home.

Elder mead:

The well-known summer scent of elderflower, and a good full taste. The aftertaste is long, with a solid base of light bitter substances. The sweetness is in the lower end.

Serve ice-cold as an aperitif, or steaming hot from small mugs. Enjoy the elder mead cold with e.g. vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate.

This is the brewer’s choice when offering a welcome aperitif, a cold drink in the summer heat or as a substitute for Christmas mulled wine.

Ingredients: Water, Danish honey, elderflower, yeast. Guidance 15% alcohol

Forest mead:

All the good things from the Danish forests gathered in one mead. The tartness of the wild berries provides a fine counterpoint to the honey in this mead. It has a rich bottom with the flavor from the oak. A delicate and lovely aftertaste.

A mead where the taste from the berries and the acidity have been allowed to dominate, which makes this mead stand out the most from the other brews.

Suitable for any dessert table, served cold with cheeses, ice cream, fruit, cake and dark chocolate.

This is the brewer’s favorite to brew. It’s a fun mead to put together, due to the many flavors in this brew.

Ingredients: Water, Danish honey, blackberries, blackcurrants, wild strawberries, currants, oak and yeast. Guidance 15% alcohol

Pure Mead:

Pure mead, as its name suggests, has a very clean taste and smell of honey, it has a fine balance between sweetness and acidity and nutty bitter notes that balance the sweetness. It has a long aftertaste, in which the pure honey sweetness emerges more and fills the mouth for a long time. We put this mead on our large oak dish, so that the storage will be extra nice for this mead.

– This is the brewer’s “kitchen mead”, which, in addition to its classic and pure mead taste, is perfect for use in the kitchen when making dressings, marinades, etc.

Ingredients:
Water, Danish honey, yeast. Guidance 16% alcohol

Meadow mead:

Meadow mead is a semi-sweet mead, where the flavorings of the mead herb add a fruity experience and reduce the sensation of sweetness. A unique mead, with a very special character and personality.

The meadow mead is excellent for marinating game, for the cheese board, dark chocolate, ice cream or in a welcome drink.

– This is the favorite of the brewer, who recommends this mead as a special companion to the good cheese.
