Intense deep ruby red color in the glass and with fruity notes of cherry spiced with a hint of dark chocolate. Soft on the tongue with velvety rounded tannins that are perfectly balanced with the wine’s natural acidity.

“COMPLEX EXPRESSIONS”
Where the Superiore category has its strength is in the freshness, where you get full and spicy fruit without the heaviness you know from Amarone. And this Superiore is an excellent example of that. And you also sense how its slightly herbal and slightly bitter notes create an interaction with the fruit, and at the same time bring out a rather complex expression.

“SUITABLE FOR MOST ALL CHRISTMAS FOOD”
Ripasso is incredibly popular, and if it is made with care and a sense of quality, it is also excellent. This is made from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella, which are the classic grapes for both Ripasso and of course Amarone. In the nose it has a wonderful aroma of pickled cherries, blackcurrants, coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla. In the mouth it is fruity, with good fullness and depth together with gentle tannins and a fine acidity. Pairing wine for Christmas and New Year’s food Points: 92/100 What type of Christmas food does this wine go well with and why? This wine is a bit of an “all-rounder” that goes well with almost all Christmas food. This is because it has a good fruitiness, tannins and acidity. If you have to choose a perfect match, I would go for the roast duck, where it will be excellent. If you put turkey on the menu, for example, go for one of the Italian ones.

“A Wagonload of Sunberries”
A truckload of blackcurrants, cherries, rhubarb, a whiff of dried fruit and tobacco. Quite full-bodied valpolicella in it in the well-known ripasso style with a light fruity sweetness flanked by a small stone fruit bite in the finale.
In Ripasso production, the finished Valpolicella wine is used, which goes through a second fermentation together with the grape skins from Amarone production. This process lasts five days at 15-25 degrees. The fully fermented wine is made in barriques and in large French casks for 12 months. The wine can mature for 5-8 years if properly stored.
About Marseghina
Marseghina is the result of the meeting of two families, united by their passion for wine since the beginning of the 20th century. A passion that has been passed down from generation to generation and resulted in the joint project of Luciano Sancassani and Riccardo Degani.
The state-of-the-art winery was inaugurated in 2015.
Valpantena’s terroir stretches east of Verona and consists of a north-south oriented valley. Geologically, the area is similar to the famous Valpolicella, as the valley is also part of the same wine region: Valpantena is actually part of the Valpolicella wine region.
The vineyards extend over 50 hectares with terraces in great respect for the environment and the surrounding landscape. Fifteen hectares embrace the natural “amphitheatre” of Sezano, which also surrounds the winery and offices. Thanks to an impressive job of terracing, the vineyards have an ideal exposure to the vines.
The vineyards produce the grape varieties typical of the area, such as Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone, accompanied by international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
