This southern French rosé is aromatic and refreshing, and with its sociable, not too strict style, it appeals particularly widely when pink wine is to be served by the glass.
LULU le Français Rosé is a steel-fermented blend of approximately equal parts merlot, malbec and cabernet sauvignon.
The grapes are sourced almost exclusively from southwestern France’s not-so-wine-chic Gascony. Despite an absent reputation in Denmark, lovely wines are made here at a price where more celebrated regional wines have long since given up competing in the price range. In the past 30 years, table wine production has gone strong, and today the youngest, ambitious generation is at the helm with the desire to make fresh, pure and aromatic wines that radiate immediate joy in life and do not require a wine course before they can be appreciated.
A moderate alcohol level keeps the head clear a little longer, so that you can enjoy this delicious thing in full and big sips. Nose and taste show aromas of ripe strawberries with a hint of blackcurrant and refreshing citrus, while a slight fruity sweetness underlines the informal style.
This is a particularly versatile wine, which is an excellent solo wine, but also goes well with e.g. baked or fried salmon, fried chicken in its own cloud, a tasty salad or the fish soup in the bouillabaise genre.
Enjoyed from spacious white wine glasses, served at approx. 6-10°, coolest if used as an aperitif on a hot day.
