The Wine
Il Licosa di Colle del Corsicano is the authentic expression of Fiano from Cilento. It is produced from Fiano grapes cultivated in the only vineyard located in Punta Licosa in Castellabate. A full-bodied wine with an intense structure, featuring floral and ripe fruit notes, on a slightly acidic matrix that provides freshness and persistence.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw yellow in color, with floral and ripe yellow fruit aromas on the nose. On the palate, it offers freshness and good persistence.
Recommended Pairings
Excellent when paired with pasta dishes featuring fish, seafood, and grilled fish.
The Winery
The agricultural company Il Colle del Corsicano is located in Castellabate, in the province of Salerno, immersed in Mediterranean scrub, just a few meters from the sea of Cilento. The company covers an area of approximately 10 hectares, divided into two parcels. In San Marco di Castellabate, the historical family lands are found where red grape varieties Aglianico and Primitivo are cultivated. In Punta Licosa, just a few meters from the sea, a single 2.5-hectare vineyard is planted. In this picturesque area, a land of myths and legends as evidenced by Homer’s Odyssey, the company primarily cultivates Fiano grapes. Not coincidentally, the term Licosa derives from the Greek Leukosia, meaning white. The cultivation of the land, as well as the care of the plants, is carried out meticulously according to the principles of organic farming.
