Les Peyrautins Chardonnay 75 cl.
Pays D’OC – France
If you like creamy, full-bodied and welcoming chardonnay, then in Les Peyrautins chardonnay you have the ideal wine, which as an extra bonus is amazingly affordable.
The Pays d’Oc covers the vast area along the Mediterranean Sea west of the Rhône River into the Pyrenees. Here you can get – in the right hands – chardonnay, where the quality is good and the prices opposite Burgundy are extremely sympathetic. Les Peyrautins are made from chardonnay grapes harvested from high-lying fields, where they ripen fully but retain their freshness.
A dynamic winemaking team led by Xavier Roger has been responsible for the vinification, where creamy oak complements the fruit and the malolactic fermentation adds complexity and a delicious mouthfeel that is usually reserved for far more expensive wines.
A little tropical fruit in the form of melon and pineapple goes hand in hand with citrus freshness and creamy notes of lightly-roasted oak. The taste is intense but elegant and the wine’s purity and good drinkability give the desire for the next glass – just as it should be in a wine with high charm.
Enjoy the wine, at a serving temperature of approx. 9-12 °, for tasty fish dishes, for pork or fried poultry and not least as a rich aperitif wine.
