François Lurton was born and raised in Bordeaux, France, but began his winemaking career on the other side of the Atlantic, specifically in Argentina. Argentina, Chile, Spain, and France. Today, François Lurton is one of the wine world’s biggest profiles and the man behind several successful wines, most notably the hit Les Fumées Blanches, where he showcases his craftsmanship with his favorite grape, sauvignon blanc.
But it all started in the 1990s in Argentina, where François and his brother Jaques moved to work as winemakers. Together, they acquired their first vineyards there. François is now the sole owner of a highly successful and growing wine empire in both the new and old worlds: Argentina, Chile, Spain, and France.
VINIFICATION The grape skins are allowed to macerate with the must for 8-12 hours before pressing. The must is then moved to stainless steel tanks for cold stabilization at 8-10°C for a few days before alcoholic fermentation begins with cultured yeast.
