Spumante Rosé Dolce “Anna” is primarily made from Moscato (50%), Glera (30%), and Pinot Nero (20%) grapes, sourced from Le Contesse’s vineyards in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. After a gentle pressing of the grapes, the must undergoes natural settling. A small portion of the Pinot Noir must is kept cool, while the majority is fermented in stainless steel tanks. After a few weeks of rest, the wine is blended with the unfermented Pinot Noir must (which gives it its pink color) and transferred to pressurized tanks, where the second fermentation occurs using selected yeast. After bottling, the wine is stored for several weeks under cool conditions.
A Spumante in Dolce style always has a high residual sugar content (in this case, 65 g/l), but beyond its sweet, exotic character, “Anna” also offers a lovely lightness and freshness. It features a lively mousse and fine, persistent bubbles. The color is pink, and the aroma reveals notes of white flowers, apricots, peaches, and mango, as well as hints of wild roses, redcurrants, and cherries from the Pinot Noir. The taste ends with aromatic and fairly intense, fresh tones, along with a delightful fruit sweetness.
Serve as an aperitif, with Asian dishes, with desserts such as fruit tarts, fruit salad, or strawberries, and with ice cream.
