Graham’s – 1994 Single Harvest Tawny Port 75 cl.

Douro Valley Port

1994 was an outstanding year in Douro.
In addition to the exceptional batches selected for bottling as Vintage Port, Peter Symington chose other remarkable wines for long-term aging in seasoned oak casks. His son, Charles, assisted in selecting the wines for maturation and has overseen their 23-year journey at Graham’s Lodge.

Taste
Notes of rose petals, oriental spices, and toasted honey, combined with sweet balsamic tones and dried figs. A full-bodied wine with fresh nuances of blue and blackberries. Delicate finish with hints of roasted coffee. The flavor is beautifully fresh, highly intense, and long-lasting, exuding exceptional structure, balance, and finesse.

Serving
It is recommended to serve the wine slightly chilled for optimal enjoyment. Once opened, the wine can remain in good condition for up to 8 weeks.

There are few places in the world as beautiful as the Douro Valley and the city of Porto. This becomes evident when visiting Graham’s in both the Douro Valley and Porto. The grapes come from the Douro Valley (as only these wines can legally be called Port), and the wine is aged in Porto, where Graham’s Lodge boasts an extraordinary view of charming Porto. It is a city we highly recommend visiting.

A Legacy of Excellence
In 1820, the Graham brothers received 27 barrels of Port wine as payment for an unpaid debt. The sale went so well that these enterprising Scots developed a taste for this unique wine. They decided not only to produce Port wine but to create the finest Ports in the Douro Valley. Thus, W & J Graham’s was born.

Three centuries of tradition and expertise give Graham’s a solid foundation, ensuring that core values remain integral to the company. Their motto, “Do Not Forget,” underscores this commitment. Traditions, experience, and knowledge are passed down through generations, while the company also embraces innovation.

In 1882, young Scotsman Andrew James Symington joined the company but later moved on to explore the world of Port wine. When Graham’s faced financial challenges in 1970, Symington’s grandchildren seized the opportunity to purchase the house. Today, the Symington family holds a central position in the Port wine industry, owning several of the finest houses. Production is now managed by five cousins with roots in Port wine and the Douro Valley dating back to the 1600s.
