The monastery of Sant’Antimo is an important heritage of the municipality of Montalcino, as well as the church of the inhabitants of Castelnuovo dell’Abate, the small village where the Fanti family has lived for generations. Due to the special devotion that binds Filippo and Elisa to their land, since the birth of the Sant’Antimo DOC in 1996, they began to produce this wine, a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
This wine has an intense and bright ruby red color. It has undergrowth fruit aromas with delicate violet, sweet and strong spicy aromas. The taste is fresh and the tannins give the wine a long life.
Sant’Antimo Sassomagno DOC from Fanti is perfect for almost any earthen bowl. It is a special meal wine, it is perfect with pasta, grilled or in moist meat with vegetables and cheeses. It should be served at 16 – 18° C in a Balloon wine glass.
