Since 1870, Viña Errázuriz has been a leader in Chilean wine production, founded by the visionary Don Maximiano Errázuriz in the Aconcagua Valley. Here, family heritage, innovation, and sustainability come together to create wines that delight wine lovers around the world. While most Chilean vineyards were still located close to the country’s capital, Santiago, Don Maximiano Errázuriz looked further north. After traveling 100 km by horse over two days, he discovered the Aconcagua Valley. It was there he declared, “From the best soil, the best wine will come.” This message lives on more than 150 years later.
In 2004, Chileans made history when Viña Errázuriz, in a now-famous blind tasting, stood out in competition with the most prestigious wines from Italy and France. Don Maximiano Founder’s Reserve and KAI secured top placements. This milestone was followed by a series of 22 international tastings that demonstrated the consistency and outstanding quality of Chilean wines on the global stage.
At Viña Errázuriz, a wide array of grape varieties are cultivated, each carefully selected to express the unique terroir. From powerful Cabernet Sauvignon, elegant Pinot Noir, and full-bodied Shiraz to complex Malbec and the special Chilean signature grape Carmenere, their red wines represent exceptional depth and character.

A Vision for the Future
Today, the vineyard is owned and led by Eduardo Chadwick, a passionate ambassador for Chilean wine, who has traveled the world for decades promoting Chilean wines as some of the best in the world. As the fifth generation, Eduardo Chadwick continues the family legacy with his four daughters – Magdalena, María José, Alejandra, and María Eugenia – who represent the sixth generation. Together, the family works with a strong vision for the future, where sustainable development is the cornerstone of maintaining Viña Errázuriz’s position as a global reference for quality and innovation.
