Dictador Platinum 70 cl. 40%

Dictador XO Platinum 40% is a blend of rum aged 25-35 years. The rum is made from “first press” sugar cane juice and not molasses. The sugarcane juice is fermented for a minimum of 60 hours, after which 30% is distilled in a still and 70% is distilled in a column boiler. The rum is aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks from Jerez and in port casks. The casks are re-charred, i.e. re-burnt, to bring out the caramel, smoke and vanilla notes. There are nuances of honey, vanilla, toffee, oak and caramel. In the mouth there are notes of toffee, intense vanilla, caramel and coffee. There is a good balance between the oak notes and the classic rum notes. There is an enormously long finish, and a slight sweetness which complements the barrel notes well. Long and rich aftertaste, where the rum just goes on and on.

Dictador is a Colombian rum producer whose strong roots date back to 1913, when the company was founded under the name Destilería Colombiana by Don Julio Aango y Parra.
