The Libreto series, together with the Sinfonia series, are the latest special launches from Master Blender Hernan Parra. Each bottle is aged in American oak, and some have been finished in either Sherry casks or Port wine casks. It is vintage rum and single cask from the best drawer. Find your own favorite!
The Sherry Oak 2005 version is, with its 44%, an intense and vanilla-filled rum. In the nose there are notes of freshly ground coffee, spicy oak, hints of turmeric, black pepper and hints of black tea and of course vanilla. In the mouth, the vanilla comes through nicely, but there are also notes of red fruits, red grapes, and hints of a kind of brandy fruitiness. There is a nice finish of marshmellows, some cocoa and orange.
Dictador is a Colombian rum producer whose strong roots date back to 1913, when the company was founded under the name Destilería Colombiana by Don Julio Aango y Parra.
