DICTADOR TWO MASTERS RUM 44% Laballe 1975 is produced in a collaboration between Cyril Laudet, Celler Master at Laballe and Hernan Parra, Master Blender at Dictador.
The rum is aged primarily at Dictador in Columbia, but also at Laballe, where it has been aged in a Gascon Noir Chene cask for 32 months. Only 450 were produced in total, numbered 1-450.
On the nose there are notes of delicious vanilla with hints of American oak, white flowers, white chocolate and a bit of raspberry. There are fine nuances of sultana and a bit of autumn forest floor, which is beautifully rounded off with a hint of anise. In the mouth you find tones of maple, pecans, a hint of smoked licorice and star anise. The rum also offers slightly malty notes and hints of blood orange, red apples and a bit of sour orange or tripplesec. The aftertaste is long with notes of white pepper, sweet tea and a bit of fresh ginger. The rum finishes with notes of chocolate-covered, candied orange peel. Really nice.
Enormously well-composed Two Masters rum. Only a few bottles have found their way to Denmark.
Dictador is a Colombian rum producer whose strong roots date back to 1913, when the company was founded under the name DestilerĂa Colombiana by Don Julio Aango y Parra.
Dictador is located in Cartagena in northern Colombia, facing the Caribbean Sea. Through its many years of operation, the house has continually refined its production, its recipes and its storage methods, and today Dictador belongs among the elite of quality producers in both rum and gin.
The secret behind the unique products from Dictador lies in the Parra family (Hernan Parra), who are the 3rd generation of master blenders at Dictador. For the Parra family, rum is not just rum, but an art form that is continuously developed and improved. It’s art in a bottle. Try it yourself and experience the Colombian treasure in liquid form.
