The house Deutz & Geldermann was founded by William Deutz and Pierre Geldermann in 1838 in the town of Aÿ in Champagne. William Deutz and Pierre Geldermann laid down a line from the start where quality was the primary thing, a line that has since been followed up by the current director André Lallier, great-grandson of William Deutz. Thus, since the foundation of the “Syndicat des Grandes Marques de Champagne” in 1882, Deutz has been an active member of this exclusive organization consisting of the 20 best houses, known for their quality both in France and in the rest of the world where luxury champagnes are enjoyed. All wines are produced with the greatest care. All champagnes are produced e.g. exclusively from must from the first pressing. The house of Deutz refuses to introduce mass production methods, considering them incompatible with the traditional craftsmanship needed to produce great champagnes. With Louis Roederer’s takeover of Maison Deutz in 1993, the necessary capital was added to ensure that you can continuously make Champagne of a quality that justifies Deutz’s position among the very best houses in Champagne.
Fresh pink with pink shades. Flattering and vinous scent of cherries, blackberries, pomegranates and currants. The taste is complex and powerful, yet incredibly fine and nuanced with tantalizing nuances of fresh strawberries and gooseberries.

Soft caressing forms
Deutz is a house that, in my eyes, never fails, not even with this rosé. The nose is open from the first second with notes of fresh strawberries, pickled lemon and a hint of roasted peanuts. The wine is a fascinating combination of fullness in the whole mouth at the same time as an elegance, almost to the point of weightlessness. The roundness of the wine with soft caressing forms without the slightest hint of shrillness is impressive, and it is a champagne you can linger on for a long time, if you can otherwise control the pace at which you drink it.

About Champagne Deutz
William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann were originally wine merchants in Germany. However, it was hardly attracted by the very phenomenon of champagne moved to the region of the same name in 1830 to begin a trade in champagne. In 1838 they founded their champagne house, Deutz & Geldermann, in the town of Aÿ. They were convinced that the best grapes were the cornerstone of great wines, so they started buying vineyards and making their own champagne.
