Del Maguey – Santa Catarina Minas Arroqueno 70 cl. 49%

Single Village Mescal

Del Maguey Arroqueño is a single village mezcal from Santa Catarina Minas, crafted from the rare, “semi-wild” Agave Americana Oaxaquensis, also known as Arroqueño. The term “semi-wild” means the agave was planted by human hands but left to grow naturally for 12–25 (!) years before reaching maturity. This mezcal offers incredible depth and complexity, especially after being allowed to breathe. A fantastic experience not just for agave enthusiasts but for all fans of wild spirits! Bottled at 49% ABV.

Color: Clear.
Aroma: Rich, meaty notes of peppered bacon, mint chocolate, and tropical fruit.
Tasting Notes: Deep and complex flavor with hints of melon, light smoke, pepper, and chocolate.

Serving suggestion: Enjoy neat, just as you would a fine cognac or whisky.

Del Maguey was founded by Ron Cooper in 1995 and is the world’s leading producer of quality mezcal. Ron’s mission was to make great mezcal accessible beyond Mexico—a task that was previously incredibly challenging, if not impossible! Supporting this mission is Del Maguey’s remarkably well-developed ethical code, going far beyond industry norms. They aim not to trade glass beads for gold but to promote one of the world’s most complex and culturally significant spirits responsibly. They give back to the communities where the mezcal is made, ensuring that the small palenques can continue their centuries-old production methods with the utmost respect for tradition, nature, and mezcal’s cultural, ritual, and social significance in Mexico’s small villages.

With Del Maguey, the concept of single village mezcal became synonymous with quality mezcal. Each mezcal in the collection is sourced from a unique distillery in a specific village in Mexico. They are not blended into large batches but are bottled individually to showcase the terroir of each village, reflecting the soil where the agave grows, the naturally occurring yeast in the distillery, and more.

The vinos de mezcal series includes highly limited releases of mezcal made from rare agave varieties such as Tobalá or Arroqueño.

The charming bottle labels, depicting idyllic (and sometimes slightly mystical) scenes of everyday Mexico, are illustrated by Ken Price.
