For 20 years, Fanny and Leopold Croizet have made organic Cognac from their small estate in Cognac. We have two variants in the range – “Conviction” and “Transmission”.
Esprit Organic is a family-owned cognac brand whose production has been organic for more than 20 years. The production is very small and everything is made by hand by Fanny and Leopold. A common wish for them is that they want to make good Cognac, where nature produces the best grapes according to organic principles.
Leopold comes from a long line of winegrowers and is the 10th generation working at the vineyard. This heritage gives him both experience and plenty of know-how.
Fanny has been immersed in the world of vineyards since she was a child. She was born into the world of cognac, which has given her great professionalism. She joined Leopold in 2016, first for love and then for passion.
The two varieties are for those who want high-quality handmade products and ‘small batch’ Cognac in the best sense of the word. Transmission is the house’s XO quality and is a blend of 10-15 year old Cognac. Conviction is a blend of 5-8 year old Cognac.
More than twenty years ago, Fanny and Leopold Croizet set themselves the goal of producing organic cognac from their 30 hectares of fields in the Cru des Fins Bois. All the fields that belong to their property have been converted, so that they are now grown purely organically with the three grape varieties; Folle Blanche, Colombard and Ugni Blanc. Their philosophy is to let nature speak and grow the best grapes in collaboration with it.
Production is small and everything is made by hand by Fanny and Leopold. Fanny represents the house and comes from Cognac, where her father taught her all about the special Eau de Vie from the area. She has inherited her nose for aging from the family and helps to give the fine expression in the various cognacs. Leopold is the 10th generation working at the winery, and this legacy gives him both experience and plenty of know-how. Together they form a fantastic family house that grows organically in Cognac – which is extremely rare.
The two variants we have taken home are a V.S.O.P. Conviction and an X.O. Transmission. With Conviction, Fanny and Leopold were convinced that it was the right decision to go the eco way. With Transmission, they found that their products were better organic than conventional. The transmission was complete.
