Fresh and light with hints of red berries and fruit. Very fine texture, soft and precise in expression. Dark notes of plums and violets appear along the way. A wine you should keep for 3-9 years.
Old-fashioned wine in the best sense of the word. A classic wine that exudes extraordinary charm.

Adrian van Velsen
(85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 50% Neuholz) A ripe, slightly smoky nose, with clear roasted notes, burnt wood, herbs, spices, followed by plums and ripe blackberries. On the palate, rich, full-bodied, with fine tannin structure, very good acidity, feeling much fresher than the nose suggests, with drive, building pressure, and ending long with plenty of spice, leaving a mix of red and dark berries. A very good and lively La Serre.

Falstaff
Deep ruby, opaque core, purple reflections brightening on the rim. Aromas of blackberries, liquorice, hints of bergamot, a touch of nougat and candied orange zest, cigar tobacco. Complex, juicy, ripe cherries, good freshness, ripe tannins, salty touch to the finish, chalky and lively aftertaste.
About Château La Serre:
The seven hectares of vineyards at Château La Serre are located on the edge of Saint-Emilion’s famous limestone terrace, just a few meters from the center of the medieval town. The vineyard is planted on a south-facing limestone plateau (hence the name “La Serre” – “The Greenhouse” in French), covered with a thin layer of clay, and is on average 35 years old. Here, 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc grow.
M. Luc d’Arfeuille, the passionate owner of the estate, adheres to a traditional approach both in the vineyard and the winery. The soil is worked manually to avoid the use of herbicides, and vineyard work is kept to a minimum to let the natural character of the estate shine through. Traditional practices such as pruning and cutting are sufficient to control yields. Recently, some modern elements have been introduced, such as cold maceration before fermentation and recent optical sorting. The wines are typically deep and generous, with a touch of minerality.
