CDI – Guyana 14 Years Armagnac Cask Finish High Proof DK 70 cl. 61,2%

Single Cask Premium Aged Rum- Single Cask Denmark

The Demerara rum aged in Armagnac casks is unusual, but the bottler, Compagnie des Indes, is French, so if anyone were to do it, it would be Florent and Compagnie! Before the 36-month finishing in the Armagnac cask, the rum spent 11 years in bourbon barrels. It’s bottled at 61.2%, without added sugar or chill filtration. The cask, numbered GDA61, yielded a total of 479 bottles, and although it’s not on the label, it was bottled exclusively for the Danish market!

Color: Old gold.
Aroma: The scent is not heavy and dark but surprisingly fresh behind the strong alcohol (it’s 61%!) with notes of lemon balm, chestnut cream, burnt sugar, dried flowers, and herbs (mint).
Tasting Notes: Dry and powerful at first, then develops into slightly sweeter notes of gingerbread, freshly baked bread, cardamom, and roasted chestnuts.

Serving Suggestion: Should be enjoyed neat.
