Caol Ila finally returns to Diageo’s Special Release series, and what a comeback! This is a 10-year-old, cask strength whisky in the relatively rare unpeated style. It is aged in a variety of casks, including American and European oak wine casks, adding an extra layer of fruitiness to the whisky. 57.3% alcohol.
Color: Golden.
Aroma: Mildly spiced and nutty notes, pepper, grass, and fresh cream.
Tasting Notes: Round and fruity, completely lacking the classic smoky and peaty notes we know from Caol Ila.
